This is likely Canon’s lens roadmap for 2020

Nokishita has released a list of lenses to expect from Canon in 2020. Some we knew about, but a couple are new.
Canon lenses coming in 2020

Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 IS STM
Canon RF 85mm f/2 Macro IS STM
Canon RF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM
Canon RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1L IS USM
Canon RF 600mm f/11 DO IS STM
Canon RF 800mm f/11 DO IS STM
Canon RF 1.4x
Canon RF 2.0x

I can add to this information that both the RF 600mm f/11 IS STM and RF 800mm f/11 IS STM will be DO lenses as well.

EF FF Lens on a Fuji GFX: Which ones will cover the sensor? Advice on adapters?

Hi all,
Ok...even in the midst of looking forward to the R5...this weekend I got side tracked watching YouTube videos about the GFX 50 and even the 100.

I then got wind that with various adapters, you could use EF lenses (and even some Hasselblad V system lenses and others ) on the digital MF sized sensors on the GFX cameras.

I see comments that "not all EF FF lenses' image circles will cover the GFX's larger sensor....but some will".

I cannot for the life of me find a list of EF lenses that will cover the sensor.

Looking for a little help if anyone knows how to find such a list, or how to find the specs and calculate if it would or not for a given lens.

Anyone?

Also, I"ve been starting to see various adapters...to allow mounting the EF lenses to the GFX mount. I see mostly from Fotodiox and Techart.....both seem to claim they will work well with EF lenses to allow auto focus, and aperture control, and so far videos I've seen seem to show them to work fairly well, even autofocus didn't seem too bad from the demos I saw.

I'm wondering which would be the best to work with EF glass?

The only lenses I've seen that seem to have an image circle large enough for sure to cover the digital MF sensor were the EF TS lenses...the 90mm seemed to cover it even when fully tilted or shifted....with some slight vignetting on the 24, 17 and 45, but even some of those weren't bad.

Anyway...I know it's mostly an exercise in agonizing over money I can't and don't need to spend...BUT, I've got the itch in my brain to research this and who knows...what happens if a deal comes along.

At this point, I think I'd start saving for the GFX100....as that it seems to offer the most difference than any FF camera out there...but at $10K body only that's really $$$$.

Some of that pain might be alleviated if I could start right off to bat...using some of the many EF lenses I have.....
I also have some Hassy V system lenses too....which would take another adapter, but would add to the stash of lenses I could use right off to bat if I were to somehow come up with the scratch to buy the camera body.

And yes, I know I need another hole in my head too....
;)

Thanks in advance,

cayenne

5D Mark IV or not

I see Canon has the 5D Mark IV on sale for $1,999.00. I have a 7d Mark II and a 6D Mark II, I like both cameras but.
The setups on the back of them are a little different and I get confused on the buttons in the heat of shooting.
I prefer the back panel of the 7d Mark II and the body size slightly larger vs 6D Mark II. I believe the 7D Mark II and the 5D Mark IV a has similar body size and back panel controls, if that's the case I would think switching in between the two would be easier.
I shoot all kind of things, I use the 7D Mark II for wildlife and aviation, it's works well in good light. The 6D Mark II is my all around kit, landscape, portals, aviation statics and events.
I this point I am not ready for the jump to mirrorless. Looking suggestions and feedback.

The Canon EOS R5 and EOS R6 will be announced in the first few days of July

I have been told that the Canon EOS R5 and Canon EOS R6 will be announced alongside each other on or around July 2, 2020, depending on where you are in the world. The Independence Day long weekend doesn’t begin until July 3, 2020. That said, I have also heard July 6 as a possible announcement date.
So we’re a month away from the official unveiling either way!
I have also been told to expect both cameras to have limited availability by the end of July.

Canon 80D batteries keep cutting in and out

Hello everyone,
I purchased an 80D back in July of 2019 as a replacement for my T5i. I at first just had my stock body but then purchased a third party battery grip which came with 2 additional third-party batteries. Well, that was that a mistake. The batteries wouldn't recognize and I was barely able to take pictures uninterrupted for a long time. Then I decided to buy officially licensed Canon batteries since I had a bit more money to spare from photoshoots and such. Then the issue continued even with the real Canon batteries! The batteries are always charged so that isn't the issue and it always happens when I need it the most. It really screws with my professionalism when it happens during a photo shoot and I really just want to figure it out.
Sometimes it will ask if they are certified batteries and if they have the canon logo on the top (which they do) and says that Third-party batteries won't work and no matter what answer I chose (Yes or No) it always shuts off. I will usually take out my microfiber cloth and clean the batteries and the holder for the batteries inside the grip too. There is a small chance it works and I can get back to shooting more photos but the rest of the time it doesn't and still stays off.
The only thing I can think of is the grip itself is causing the issues with a bad connection from battery to the camera? I do have more money now and I noticed that an official canon battery grip is about $170. I was saving for a new lens but I'd rather have the ability to actually take photos than to take sharper photos.
Any help is greatly appreciated! It's truly upsetting to me that this keeps happening time and time again. I've missed out on so much because of this issue. Hopefully, it doesn't mean I have to get a whole new camera.

The Supposed R5 June Announcement Date

Been looking through websites for a supposed date, though everyone knows it's just all speculation at this point, unless anyone has heard anything about when the announcement would take place. It's 100% going to be/is pre-recorded, so they could stream it live tomorrow with a last minute announcement of a date tonight if they wanted, if they haven't announced an actual date yet.

I just want to place a pre-order :P

T3I issue with live view

I have a T3I and got it used looks brand new takes great pics. I mostly do Astrophotography but noticed while shooting with the live view at night when the image preview comes up after exposure that the image will scroll down with a white fuzz making the image unviewable now if I check the image its self it is fine on the card it just kinda whites out my preview.
It does not happen all the time, I think have not had the camera that long. Other than it works great

Camera shutter count is around 6000 I am running ML but have not tried turning it off or on but it is there.

A Canon RF 100mm f/2L IS USM Macro gets a mention [CR1]

I have been told by an anonymous source that a Canon RF 100mm f/2L IS USM Macro lens is in the hands of select photographers with an announcement coming this year.
No further details about the lens have been given. It’s pretty obvious we’re going to get a native macro lens for the RF mount, and an f/2 lens would be a great addition to the RF lineup.
