Portable LED light Panel 126 VS 160---Super cheap

Dear Friends.
I make small money in Photography ( Hobby) by shooting the Parties in the Night time. Past 2 years, I do not use Flashes, because the People brink/ Close their eyes when the flasher shoot out the bright light in the dark area.
Yes, I Make my DIY, the Flashes/ LED Portable Lights Panels, and Start with 2 years ago, Buy 2 panels of 126 Neewer Panels from Amazon = 25 Us Dollars / each, And Use since then = Great Light for the Dark area group shots.
Yes Last week, I want Bigger , Stronger LED Light Panels = 160 LED( Color Temperature = 5400K at full Load, and can reduce to 3200K by the dimmer in the unit) , Same Company " NEEWER " Made in China , By Amazon = 34 US Dollars Each---Yes , I just get 2 panels to day, Yes, I use GE. Light meter test to compare Between 126 LED and Ne 160 LED. BTW = $ 34 US Dollars / Each 160 LED Light Panel.
Yes All of them use 6 AA Rechargable Batteries = Eneloop/ Sanyo---Here the Test Result :
For 126 LED at 3 feet from front of panel in the Dark Area = 150 Foot- Candle
For 160 LED at 3 feet from front of the Panel in the dark area = 250 Foot- candle ( An Overcast day will provide an intensity of around 1,000 foot-candle = From Wikipedia).
Yes, I have very high recommend to all of my Photographers friends for both still photos or / and Videography.
Enjoy.
Surapon.

PS, This Weekend, I will use my New 160 LED ( 2 Of Them ) with my DIY Holder, and report back to you.

Sony A7R on DXO - Highest full frame IQ ever

http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1339351

DxOmark just published the full Sony A7r sensor test. And according to their measuresand ranking system the camera scores the same points as the Nikon D800-D800E (and that for $500 less). And it literally kicks the Canon5DIII in the butt.

This is what DxO writes about the A7r:

“Although we can’t provide any commentary on image sharpness at this stage in our tests, the sensor in the Sony Alpha 7R performs exceptionally and is on a par with that found in the D800 models. Given the Sony’s small size, low weight and outstanding sensor performance, it’s one of the most intriguing and compelling new additions in recent times.”

Well played Sony! And thanks to the wonderful metabones adapter, I guess we could say that this really is the "Canon body" we have been waiting for. :D

An Announcement Coming in November? [CR1]

Unconfirmed report of an announcement

I’ve been told that a major retailer will be doing a presentation showing off new gear from the manufacturers. When a third party asked about Canon stuff, he was told that he should attend as Canon folks will be interested. The retailer said they couldn’t say any more about what they’d be showing from Canon.

The mentioned presentation is the third week of November, so is it possible there could be an announcement the week of November 10, 2013?

This sort of thing does happen with retailers. They’re shown or told about gear behind an NDA to get ready for the marketing blitz and to get their orders in on the new products. We have been told previously that no new EOS DSLRs would be arriving in 2013, so perhaps this is for the expected EOS M2?

We have not seen any official invites to press events for that week yet, although Canon doesn’t always do that for a product announcement. We’ll try to get better information about this.

More to come…

DPreview: Canon EOS 70D Review posted

A Review from DPReview:

http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canon-eos-70d

http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canon-eos-70d/19: "It's only really the smaller viewfinder, less substantial-feeling construction and a couple of minor complaints surrounding JPEG defaults and white balance that count against the 70D in our scoring. Overall, the Canon EOS 70D exceeded our expectations in the autofocus department, and satisfied our needs as a quality enthusiast camera for a wide variety of shooting situations. "

AFMA for new 135mm F2

Hi, I recently bought Canon 135mm F2 and I purchased FoCal Pro to do AFMA. I wasn't sure the correct target distance, so I tried two different distances. When I placed the target at around 5 ft, it gave me +6, but when I placed the target at around 10 ft, it gave me +12. Which setting do I pick? Is this normal to have different AFMA value depending on target distance? What is the correct target distance for 135mm lens when using FoCal? Thank you for your comments.

Canon Extender 1.4ii or iii?

Hi - Long time follower of the forums - first post.

I know there are so many discussions about the two canon 1.4 extenders - but most seem to relate to longer lenses - I can't seem to find an answer to this - I have a 5D3 and 70-200f4IS and really want to know if its worth using an extender on this combo or just cropping the pictures to get a better result.

and if so - would the version iii be much better with this combo and worth the extra $$?

Many thanks

tony

sigma dock autofocus adjustment

i have the sigma dock and have had to use it on both the 120-300 and 18-35 which were grossly off. after doing focus adjustments on the lenses i have found that they work the same on the 2 70d's and the 40d which i have tried them on. that tells me the problem is with the lens itself and not the camera/lens pairing and also why afma with the camera doesn't work very well with the new sigma lenses, ae frontfocusing close and backfocusing at infinity and everything else in between. i am a big fan of what sigma is doing with the new products but i think this inexcusable and i will also write them and tell them so.

Old Gear is Better?

I just purchased my second Canon Eos 20D. I'm amazed that such a great piece of kit sells for such a cheap price. I've roughly decided on the Sigma 17-50 2.8 OS as my next lens and together with my telephoto lenses I think I'll be pleased with my kit. I think it's amazing how I can get two semi pro / enthusiast bodies for the price of one 1100D. I guess cameras are like that though. Whats one of your best used camera purchases?

A “serious” new Tamron?

Tamron is going to be announcing a new tele zoom lens next Thursday, November 7, 2013. Apparently it’s going to be a “serious” lens according to a Polish forum.

Leaving the camera ON, when changing lenses....Bad? Good? No Problem?

Hi Guys,

Often in the heat of 'battle'...I've left the camera on while changing lenses....and this weekend, I'm shooting voodoo fest (http://www.worshipthemusic.com/) And I'll be at times in the pit or maybe onstage wanting to change lenses quickly.

I've been reading on some sites that promote changing without turning camera on/off to save time (also, in having your lenses in the bag with caps on both ends OFF)....

Anyway, from what I've read here and there, it shouldn't hurt to change your lenses with the camera on. I've even done this a few times with the camera in video mode...

I've not found anything yet official from Canon about this....for my 5D3.

What are your thoughts about this?

Bad? Good? No problem at all?

Thanks in advance,

cayenne
