It looks like Nikon is targeting the Canon EOS R5 with the upcoming Nikon Z 8

If there is one company other than Canon that we want to see do well and improve their marketshare, it’s definitely Nikon. There is so much amazing heritage with the company, and it appears they have fixed the financials of the business and now it’s just time to get back to making great cameras and

1div + 35-350L football??

Curious to hear your views
My son has less than 5 games left this season.

My go to kit is a gripped 5diii + ef100-400Lii

I sometimes struggle pitchside when the action gets close. I usually sit at the corners and “sweep” I’ve tried taking 2 body’s with different lenses - sounds good in theory but in practice I end up missing more shots.

My settings are pretty much standard
Jpeg L - Landscape profile - M - wide open - auto iso - Alservo

BTW the 5diii AF hates red, seems to throw the AF off. Whereas grey is very sticky almost 100% success rate.

Shutter speed is never below 1/800th. I tend to have IS on to steady the viewing as I only use centre point only so have to ensure it’s covering its target.

I’m toying with the idea of taking my 1div + 35-350L (basically 45-450 with the crop factor)

Just curious from those in the know if the results would be massively inferior to my current set up.

I do have both 80d and 7dii, (even a M6ii!)! But I’m guessing the results would be appalling.

I normally shoot between 1500 -1800 per game. 2/3rds get dumped editing later. Editing is via the photo editor included with windows.

R3 locks up and pictures disappear

I was wondering if any R3 owners are experiencing or have experienced anything similar to this.

My R3 will occasionally lock up and freeze. Currently it happens about once a month. I will be shooting and the camera will lock up. The viewfinder can go black. The camera comes out of the freeze on its own without me having to remove the battery. When it does and it is operational again the sequence of images I was shooting is gone from the card.

I have been putting off sending it to CPS hoping that a firmware updated would solve the problem, is it did with my R5s, but I don't think I can hold off. The fact that images vanish makes it unreliable.

Last night I was on firmware 1.4.0 and today I have updated to 1.4.1 ... shooting a match in a few hours ... fingers crossed.

"Photo" generated by Artificial Intelligence wins Sony World Photography Award

The German artist Boris Eldagsen has rejected an award at this year's Sony World Photography Award after revealing that his submission was generated by Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The "photo" "Pseudomnesia: The Electrician." won the creative open category.
Eldagsen said he hoped his actions would open up the conversation around the issue and lead to "separate competitions for AI-generated images."
The eerie black and white image shows two women from different generations - the older woman appearing to hang on to the younger woman from behind.

updated focus & Tracking coming to Cinema EOS? (R5C PLEASE)

After NAB has come and gone; Has anyone heard rumors if Canon's updated Tracking and Recognition will make it in the upcoming Cinema EOS FW Releases in June? Really hoping we get similar functionality in SF Mode (eg 120fps). It doesn't make sense that the r5c loses all focus tracking functions in SF Mode even though we now have a fan to stop overheating. They're only demoing ~30fps in the canon creator society; it really needs to support 120fps.
