R5 Serial Number is missing some Digits

Tried to register my camera. Serial numbers not recognised. It's only 6 digits long. Does anyone else have a short number? My serial number is located on the bottom of the camera, on a sticker, black text on a silver background.
P.S. the exif data does have a 12 digit serial number. The camera was bought second hand with 1000 on the shutter. cameras in perfect condition, works great. shot a wedding with it, no dramas. Just so weird with this serial number.

Six digits does not look like a regular Canon serial number (those are 12 digits). Mine has a sticker with the serial number on the foil that the camera was wrapped in and on a sticker on the outside of the box. You can check those places.

thanks mate.
A picture of the bottom of the camera would be useful...but agree with others, almost certainly an issue. I would be contacting Canon.

the exif data has a 12 digit serial number but the sticker here only has 6 numbers. waiting for canon to write me back.

You have a non-north american R5. The north american R5 are DS 126836. You have a DS126837. This may be a large part of the issue.

Perhaps someone knows the region for '37. Some quick searching and I found this article, and Canon Rumors discussing the same, but it does not discuss '37.
My UK one has DS126838. The number is clearly regional, and deposited for Bluetooth registration amongst other things.

"The General Conformity EAC mark (Eurasian Conformity logo, EAC marking, EAC Label, EAC sign) is a special marking used by manufacturer to inform its customers that their product has an appropriate EAC Certificate and meets the quality and safety requirements adopted by the Eurasian Economic Union (Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, hereinafter referred to as the EAEU)."
"The equivalent of the EAC mark in the European Union is the “CE” mark."
