The white-tailed eagle (haliaeetus albicilla) is our German state heraldic bird.
This is my first decent photo of a juvenile individual (beak not fully yellow, dark plumage).
I hope in future I can get some better photos if it or its parents.
The eagle was pretty far away, air was not clear and I had just one fly by.
R50+100-500L+1.4x@700mm, 1/2500, f/11, ISO 640, still almost 1:1 crop

Great Cormorant and Egyptian Geese in flight today (R5ii RF200-800mm).

The like is for the cormorant and the shooting tech.
I hate Egyptian Geese. Invasive brood. Okay - we humans brought them to the wrong places.
Last year, they drove our kestrels out of the Protestant church tower.

I looked for a kingfisher in a local park some days ago but got only a few shots just before sunset.
R5m2 + RF 200-800 @ 1/4000s, f/9, ISO 51200
...
Two days later I had more luck and saw him in the morning but only once flying by in a distance.

...

Just great! Congrats! I wish my locals were more cooperative - or I was better in panning

Thank you! Yes, indeed! I've been able to get the very last part of takeoffs with larger birds before, but now I can get all the moments leading up to it. With small birds, pre-capture is really quite amazing, and has allowed me to get shots I could never get before.
