I like the photos, Brit1 is my fav.

And the lens is awesome, I hate to say it (for those on the fence in owning both), but the RF 50 is just as good imo, these two lenses are the best I've seen in years, the 85mm and even the 50 are sharper by some margin than my 200/2, I used to think of it as one of the sharpest L lenses.. I don't think I have much else (16-35II, 35II, 24-70II, EF50, EF85, 100, 135, 70-200II, 200/2, 500II) that stacks up to them other than the 35/1.4 II and even that looks soft over the two RF's.
Agreed! I was quite surprised at how soft the 35 L II appeared after getting very spoiled when editing the RF50 and RF85 shots.

For any shortfalls the EOS R makes at this time it makes up elsewhere with the RF glass. I don't have any plans to buy any other lenses for it right now and the only reason I got the R was to get the 50 and 85 but I am very happy with it even with adapted EF lenses not that I intend to use them.

If these lenses (RF50 & 85) get sharper with a new body then I will be even more impressed, the R nails focus at f1.2 time and time again, I''d say I get 8-9 out of 10 shots most of the time with the R and the RF glass, vs 3 out of 10 with the 1DX2/5D4 and the old EF 50 and 85, not that even when focus was point before the images were still soft and full of CA, some of that CA in the old 85 could not be removed from chrome trims and the like from cars or bikes I shot with it. Now, I never see hardly ANY CA!

Happy days.. :)

My copy of the EF 35mm f/1.4L II was very sharp.

Nice pics!
My 35II is super sharp! One of my all time favorite lenses! But IMO the new RF 85 and 50 take sharpness even further. Given both the EOS R and 5D4 share much the same IQ wise I was surprised.
Here's a couple from the R and RF 85 taken today: 6 stop ND filter and a little AD200ws in a 38" Glow. absolutely no skin smoothing.

This one is killer! (y)
I cannot get over how sharp this lens is at f/1.2. I like to call these Super L lenses. They really are amazing, but you already know that. There were a couple of Sony guys at this shoot. One said, "Sony's 85mm f/1.2 puts that lens to shame." haha. I gently told him Sony doesn't make an 85mm f/1.2 and he wanted to argue. These guys are nuts.
