The serial number is engraved on the mount of mine, all is good.

looks like only lenses manufactured in 2022 are affected, my 50 1.2 is at least a decade old. I would guess that most of the 50 1.2 ef lenses out in the wild are not going to be part of the recall

But it's an interesting data point that Canon did a production run of this EF lens last year.

Just sent another brand new lens for repair today, thankfully my copy of this lens is not effected.

Vast majority of pro shooters I know use EF mount cameras, not mirrorless.

I was trying to find the article I read, but can't. However, my understanding is that Canon keeps making lenses until they are officially discontinued.

They go to "Final Sale" status until supply runs out and then the status changes to "Discontinued".
However, you are correct in that internally "Final Sale" is discontinued.
