Some time ago I was searching for promos and found myself on a Canon webpage asking about my home country.

Could be simply about the language...
But: better compare! Canon France promotion is partly more generous, and applies to far, far more products. What I cannot tell, is whether these Canon generosities are valid for residents only.
PS: because I was too lazy, sorry, busy to read the conditions...and because I'm broke and have no real intention to buy THIS month.
