?????
uhh..... I am shooting with a 1DsmkIII body, so not taking any benefits from the 5DSr ;D
seriously now - it's about shot samples with the lens. For all that matters, it could be mounted on a Sony or even Nikon body.
I tried a mk1 rental before, and was not impressed at all. I still need to do an AFMA, if nothing else to confirm /check if indeed needs it, but the lens is more versatile than I ever though - the MFD is indeed an improvement, and for sure I am taking full benefit from the IS

These are all nice shots but so far I dont see the benefit of the 5DSr in any of these. Maybe the camera has just reached the limits of the lens and that's all that can be delivered. I really cant see the difference in similar shots taken with my 5D3 and 300 f2.8L.

I will say that I dont see any noise to speak of but I suspect these were take at ISO 800 or less. So there is nothing to compare.

I'd really like to see something taken at ISO 3200 or higher just to compare the noise against the predecessors. One would expect a finer noise pattern..as long as one does not get carried away with cropping.

So far these have not given me GAS as other recent models have...and I so much want to like it but...

I used to get excellent results from my 5DIII + 300/2.8 II + 2xTC (wt = 3.8 kg). Now, I get just as good resolution from a 5DS R + 100-400mm II at 1.1 kg lighter and with significantly better AF. You really notice the difference hiking around.

Here are several photos taken with the 5 DS R and a Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM: http://photojoern.de/sports/polo/
I found it extremely versatile for sports photography and the aperture adds a slight piece of tolerance in the focus point. For the Snow Polo it was just the right decision. What do you think?

I really am loving this lens. Even hand-held in less than great light, it can perform. Here's one wide open at dusk at the Sera Monastery in Lhasa, Tibet (5diii, ISO 200, 1/60, f/5.6). I did crop a bit but even the corners of the original are good.
