First EOS R RAW files...

Froknowsphoto has uploaded some interesting RAW files from the R. He had to convert them to DNG so we can all play with them but from what I have briefly seen they are nothing to write home about.

Only on mobile data so can't watch for a few days- are the raws like the 5dmk4 or improved?

I can't see any improvement.

There is a shot from inside looking outside that completely falls apart but the interior is very under exposed. The 10,000 iso portrait cleans up very well but it depends on how much noise reduction you personally like.

And which converter are you using?

Because - as we all know - that makes a big difference...

Well not if you are making comparisons. If I develop 5D MkIV and EOS R images in the same converter and compare them that is a fair comparison, that one converter might do a better job than another doesn't matter for a comparison.

But they are uploaded as DNG's because the out of camera RAW files are not yet workable widely, and I used Lightroom to play with them. To be sure I am not saying Adobe are the best RAW processor for either the 5D MkIV or the R, but it is a comparison not an ultimate quality test.

DPR has had raws for download for a couple of days or more, they used a beta version of ACR to demosaic them.
