1DX in January 2012 for Pros???

Hey guys, while I was on vacation last week I met a professional photographer at the airport (friend of my dad I did not know). When he saw me taking pictures of my daughter with my 5D mkII we immediately started to talk about cameras in general (well first he took a nice photo of my daughter and I ...).

We quickly move to discuss the upcoming 1DX and he told me the Canon rep just informed him that day he would get one in January. Now I assume if this is true it would only apply to pros in limited numbers...Any other professional here with insight in this?

The other interesting thing is this guy shoot with both Canon and Nikon, does a lot of different jobs including weddings, and he seemed really excited about the upcoming 1DX...

We'd soon know about it if the pros were getting them officially, we'd be seeing demos, videos, low light full size samples, the works i'd imagine!
Was he getting it to try/familiarise, or to buy and get delivered for January?

He gave me the impression he was getting his unit in January. Maybe it was wishful thinking on his part! But if he does get one l'll do everything I can to know about it...

Maybe Canon will release a bit more sample then the current show unit to pros ahead of the launch to get additional input for the final firmware...
