An "EOS 3C" (between the 1 & 5 and targetted at cinema) would let them escape the problems of naming their camera "3D" if it doesn't shoot 3D video.

I would make a 3D model the didnt shoot 3D video on purpose just to generate rumour traffic
personally I hate 3D movies as it gives me really bad eye strain. I dont think its good you your long term eye sight watching that stuff

So far as this rumour, or question, goes - we have less than 24 hours to find out.

According to latest on Nikon Rumours, the D800 will come in 2 flavours, named D800 & D800E, according to whether it comes with an AA filter or not.

So, expect the Canon man to be sitting with his choice of 5D2 replacements on his desk ready to make that phone call after Nikon have given the full press release.

I'm still half expecting a 5Dx which will simply the 5D/ 7D lines as they have done with the 1D series.

Either that, or they're going to turn these 2 lines into the old 1 series options but at a lower price point...

I can't see 4k RAW video in a DSLR body for a while yet. Next year perhaps but not now.

The putative C-DSLR is 4k MJPEG, not raw, but having said that, the specs of the second bead do sound like they could be for the C-DSLR, certainly geting rid of the mirror box and using an EVF makes sense in a cine setting

As consumers "in wait" for a new non-flagship FF body from Canon, what I find disturbing is, if they announce 1 model in March and one in September, how do they expect us to choose which one we should get if there is no announcement made for the second one or specs provided. If the 2 models are vying for the same market, the 2 "flavors" need to be announced at the same time.
