$2500! That's almost as much in £ sterling! The 5D3 is going for around £2400. You guys are soooo lucky - that's almost £1000 ($1600) cheaper! I suppose that's the problem with living in "rip-off" Britain

Ebay is already teasing a $2445 Black Friday deal, but that's almost certainly from an unauthorized dealer. Last year's lowest price was $2499 from an unauthorized dealer, so it doesn't seem like prices will drop all that much from last year.
Watch for bundles from authorized dealers, as they sometimes prefer to pass along savings that way.
I would assume that the $2445 from an unauthorized dealer is the floor. If you see anything anywhere close to that from an authorized dealer I'd jump on it. Don't forget too, as someone mentioned on another thread and with another product, that Best Buy has a generous price match policy.

You will see low prices, but they will be "FLASH" sales for a specific number of units, and often sold out in a very short time.
Now is the time to setup notifications for those sales on sites like Canon Price Watch. They will send a e-mail or text to your phone, and you will need to be quick.
I bought mine in 2012 from Adorama via ebay on one of the flash sales for $2750.
Authorized sellers cannot advertise lower than MSRP prices, so they get around it by lowering the price when you begin checkout. CR and Canon price watch will notify you of these deals, be quick and know exactly what you are willing to pay. Many of these sales will only happen once.
BTW, the lowest prices could happen any time.

The Canon 1Dx and 5D III have been on sale here in Thailand for many months. I asked the Canon dealer here and he said it was Canon that was setting the prices not them.
5D III = 26-2700 dollars
1Dx = 58-5900 dollars
That is before a VAT refund of 7%. So if I bought it and came back to the USA. I would get an additional 7% savings.
I personally think it is because they are not selling over here! So Canon is marking them down to try to get people to buy them. Strange even at those prices I still do not want one. Just stick to my old camera.

Slightly off tthread, but I notice that in the UK, the 70D has come down about 20% since September, and is now over £100 less than the 7D over here.
Canon trying to boost 70D sales, milk the 7D for as much profit before replacing it, or a bit of both?
