A Day At The Track 5DIII

I'm still a complete noob when it comes to this camera, and full frame cameras in general. I do a lot of DSLR video, but have a new found passion for photography. I moved from a T3i to a 5DMKIII and I really enjoy the camera!

Here's a few shots from yesterday at the track.

How did you find the AF tracking? I recently got the 5d3, but I don't tend to shoot fast moving people/things, so haven't had the chance to test it out yet.

I'm definitely still getting used to the AF because it seems very complex! But I'm glad, because that means I will have so much more flexibility once I understand it.

95% of my throw aways were definitely user error... ??? haha

Photo #1 looks heavily edited with blur - or did it just come out that way?

I like the contrasty look you've achieved in post-processing.

Yes, Photo 1 has a "tilt shift" blur applied to it. I actually took this shot knowing I was going to add it. It really draws the eye in to the car.

Yes, it certainly does draw the eye. The car looks very very sharp in that image; how does it look at 100%?

Thanks! I actually don't pay attention to Pixel Peeping matters such as fringing and other things of that nature. I did some pretty heavy processing on the 4th shot, which may have contributed to such results.

well done, the first shot looks like a it was a staged shot of a miniature model in a studio. Nice editing as well.

Pixel peeping is for Nikon shooters.

I'm looking forward to the WSBK there next month and the AMA SX coming up later this month at the UofU.

If you might be interested, I have a 600mm AIS and adaptor that I'd love to check out the full frame Mk3 some time? I've been doing mostly video with a T3i as well and wanted to see how the full frame Mk3 works with it for that type of thing.
