Anyone buy a new 5D3 on eBay?

I was looking for 5D3's at google shopping and found

It states it's a kit that had the lens removed, so is this a good deal and will I still have a warranty? eBay always makes me somewhat nervous but 400 bucks less is a good deal. So please anyone who has bought a new camera from eBay and maybe even from this store tell me is it safe?

Yes, I got mine for 3099$ Full USA Retail warranty card, Un-opened box, Non-grey Market camera. Best decision ever.

Just make sure that the seller has reviews on previous sales on MK3's and ask if its grey market, and be sure its USA retail if your from the US.

I recently ordered a new 5D3 with USA warranty from Beach Camera for $2799 on eBay... it's due to arrive soon. Strangely, the forum topic about the deal has disappeared from this site. I believe a couple of us snagged the deal while it lasted though. I also saw the getitdigital link on eBay a few days ago and noticed that they are highly rated, with a good amount of feedback being happy 5D3 purchasers. If you don't mind getting a 5D3 body only in a kit box, it should be a good deal. There are separate warranty cards for the camera and the lens, so just make sure that the USA warranty card that comes with it is the right one.

I got the new USA 5D3 with BG-E11 Grip & 32GB SanDisk SDHC deal from Beach Camera in early July 2012 for $3499. They shiped it out within 24hrs and the price dropped by $100 the next day. I contacted them and they even refunded me the $100 difference! I can tell you first hand that if from Beach Camera, you can trust the deal. Just need to act fast. As for the camera, new USA camera, no light leakage issue (SN: xxxxx4xxxxxx) and with latest 1.1.3 firmware.

Well thanks for the input. I don't see beach camera having any deals currently. And I'm waiting for a craigslist deal to happen and if it goes as planned I will buy the 5d3 on eBay and see what happens. I don't think it will bother me to have a new 5d3 that used to be a kit so long as the camera is actually new.

Keep checking Canon price watch. There are some good prices from authorized dealers.

I would be wary of purchasing from non-authorized Canon dealers. Canon could decide not to honor the warranty if you are not the original purchaser of the item (such as when a buyer purchases them from an authorized merchant and then resells them).

a bit off topic but i notice you have a 1D X...do you know if the 1D series eventually will have price reductions after the initial buzz of the new release wears off?

I bought a 5D3 from this seller a month ago for $3088. It was the body inside a kit box without the lens. Everything was fine and I'd buy it again.

I've seen them on eBay for either $2699 or $2799 (can't remember, but I want to say $2699), so at this price I'm sure it's legit. It kind of tics me off that I paid almost $3800 for mine after tax not even 6 months ago. I'm honestly very surprised the price has come down this much.
