Anything Shot with a 7D MII

I was photographing ski jumping last Monday and Tuesday and that was the first time I tried the anti flicker mode and it really worked! All frames were almost equally exposed!

I am also quite impressed with the high ISO capabilities on that camera (at least in controlled lighting conditions). In order to get fast enough shutter speeds I had to use high ISOs ranging from 5000 to 12 800 and I got perfectly usable shots: My old 600D was not able to deliver shots like these. Yes, all the finest details are lost but the new 20 mp sensor seems to be much better at maintaining high contrast on edges which makes the photos seem sharper than the shots from the old 18 mp sensor.

My keeper rate was about 75% which I consider good.

Magnificent Sunbird (Aethopyga magnifica) by alabang, on Flickr

The magnificent sunbird (Aethopyga magnifica) is a species of bird in the sunbird family which feed largely on nectar, although they will also take insects, especially when feeding young. Flight is fast and direct on their short wings. Most species can take nectar by hovering like a hummingbird, but usually perch to feed most of the time. It is endemic to the Philippines, and was once considered a subspecies of the crimson sunbird.
