PCM-Madison, very nice indoor sports with your 135mm f/2, and certainly within the parameters of "clean"!

I'd hope that the folks who keep claiming the latest f/4 lenses are fine because of good high ISO performance take a good look at these shots and imagine what they would look like at ISO 6400 to 8000. UGH! Even on a 5DIII, UGH!

But not everyone shoots indoors -- so, f-4 is fine for a lot of guys who don't need wider-open stops. Nice to have it, yes. Get better shots under some conditions, yes. Flatten the wallet unnecessarily, yes too. We often make comments assuming we need specific gear to capture the shots we are after - it's not always true.

And one thing I notice - the 7D2 will get pretty good clean images at higher ISO under varied light conditions. Not kicking at anyone here, but not every situation requires wider than the ones we have. We can adjust and get great shots with the right preparation. Me = Just making a blanket statement here, not totally disagreeing with the comment.
