Astrophotography Setup

Hello, i'm hoping to take some really good astrophotos for timelapse. I will be primarily using a zeiss 21mm 2.8 with a 5d miii for daytime shots. I am wondering how people think/know this lens will perform at night...

Actual astrophotography means something different, you probably mean star trails.

Any lens works for star trails. Fisyeyes are popular for some reason.

If star trails are indeed what you are after, fisheyes are indeed fun, but anything wide angel can look nice.

The most useful thing you can get is an external power supply. Such shots eat battery....

Yes it will work fine at night, but you're gonna want to shoot wide open for sure.

As they said that don't get your camera away when its dark. there's a lot of wonderful things in night like taking pictures in the whole universe! astrophotography is really cool! I hope I can have one!

It will perform fine. And since it has a hard stop at infinity it will be easier to use than other lenses. Shoot wide open.
