Any idea what the battery life is with 6 aa batteries vs two Lpe6 battery packs and what do most people use. It would be nice to use the aa batteries since you could easily replace them but not sure if the performance is worse? Thanks

They are really for emergencies only. Do not expect a very long life. Likely 250-300 shots unless you implement some carefully planned battery saving measures.
I dont know where to start a new thread (may be I dont have the privilege), so for resurrecting an older but related thread.
I am using 2 Canon LP-E6 batteries on my BG-E11 and as a backup I purchased 10 LENMAR AA type 2600mah from Frys. Can I use them on my BG-E11 (due to 2600mah) without any harm to the Camera/Lens.

well I was able to shoot for the entire day at Seaworld California with 6 AA Duracell hybrids in Pixel Vertax grip with EF 70-200 f2.8 L with IS on and changing to 50mm f1.4 and 16-35mm f2.8L,but the 70-200 was on the camera at least 85 percent.
I am visiting London this weekend and have 2 Canon brand LP-E6 (didn't buy Wasabi or STK due to mixed reviews) and 16 rechargeable AAs NiMH and 6 regular non-rechargeable AA Duracells) for a 2 day trip. I am assuming I can get through without needing a recharge. I will be leaving the BG-E11 on my 5DM3.
Should I leave both the Batteries in the BG or 1 at a time, if I have both in the BG, camera uses them at the same time (sharing though) and added weight.
