This is getting annoying, its not coming out till next year. There is not a chance that it'll be coming Nov 3rd... what will be coming is the video cameras. Other than the fact that it's been said people are doing test footage for these cameras, RED is also having announcement on that day to match Canon's announcement. Why the **** would RED care about a DSLR being released? If they did care they would have announced something when Canon announced the 1DX.
Don't get me wrong I want a 5D3 as bad as the next person but it won't happen. 1DX will carry us into next year... the 5D3 will be announced sometime before or after the 1DX gets released.
1DX- carry us into 2012
5D3- carry us into photokina
7D2- carry us into 2013
And even if there was a slight chance it dose get announced it won't be released until well after the 1DX, so either way were not getting the camera until next year around this time.
Also the biggest thing that people forget is the fact that these cameras are for photographers. I get that people all over Hollywood use the 5D2 but when it comes down to it this camera is for the photographers, so when Canon announces the 5D3 it'll be at a photographer event (hence Photokina).
Due to this interest in video cameras from the 5D2 its obvious that Canon is now putting their hand in the game to shake things up (hence the Historic announcement on their part). It will also explain why its in Hollywood to show that this camera is specifically for the serious filmmaker in the industry. And like I mentioned before, if it wasn't that big of a deal then RED would not be making their announcement on their video camera if it wasn't something video related.

Of course it is annoying, but you must understand that the 1DX is targeting those who already have one or two top level DSLRs. For those who don't have one it is annoying too that they have to wait... And we invent some sort of mental distraction, like a religious belief in a better future - after the 3/11 it will be some other date and another event to look forward to. This is what this site is living from - people with knowledge and some other with dreams. Isnt it somewhat heartless to destroy dreams ???

if it annoys you guys that much then just ignore these posts and dont get so annoyed and wound up about it.its a rumour site no one knows when it will come out i think theres a 75% chance they will announce a 5d mk3 along side a dedicated video camera thats my thought on it if its not its not then we will wait longer.either way when it is eventually released i think in terms of image quality it will only be slightly better than the mk2 if at all what will be improved is focus system better high iso noise handling better dynamic range and improved weather sealing.
anyway this is a forum for people to post things canon related if you dont like the post and cannot provide anything constructive to it go away...

For the past few events everyone has been using it as a sign for a 5D3 yet there was nothing to even prove it... you had September 21st, then you had October 26th, and then you had last week, and now you have next week. There was no evidence from CRs sources that would point toward a 5D would even come... the only evidence that CR had have had was the printers (which was valid), the new camera (1DX which was valid), and now the video cameras (more than likely on November 3rd).
Thats the reason I come to this site to look at what information CR has been given and trying to make some common sense out of it... and not just some wacky wishful prediction because I want a 5D3.
ATM November 3rd has no signs pointing toward a 5D3, everything that CR has been given (along with other sites) is pointing toward the video cameras.
And unless some curveball is thrown over the next few days I have no other reason to believe it will come.

Change the letter.
Instead of a poll, we should have a pool.
Kick in $5 or so and pick a date. If a 5D3 is announced on that date, you win the pot. If we get enough people in, the winner should have enough to buy the camera.

Forums used to be cool. Now they're just overrun by a bunch of guys that think they're better than everyone else. And out goes the feeling of a common-interest community. Nice going.
