Hi, i have a problem with my camera. Each time i have to do a photo shoot or an wedding event, i check all my gear. I own a 5DIII and a 60D. My 60D beggin to fail, i tried to shot but it locks, then when i pressed the shutter button again the 60D made the shot. I changed the battery and SD card, but still had the problem.

Anyone had that problem?

PD. Sorry for my english :/

You have likely turned on the silent shutter feature. Read page 159 of your manual.

If your camera starts to weird things, first step is to go into the menus and "restore to factory settings".... For any camera..... Most of the time it is because you inadvertently changed a setting somewhere.

I believe silent shutter takes the shot on the first press, but leaves the mirror up until the button is released. Sounds to me like mirror lockup is enabled.

Yes, I am confused in my old age. Mirror lockup is what I was thinking of. Silent shooting does require two presses of the shutter depending on the options and how long the shutter is held down. The first press takes the shot and locks up the mirror, the second returns the mirror.

Mirror lockup is most likely. Occasionally FoCal leaves my camera with mirror lockup enabled, and I have to turn it off.
