Canon 7DII CF write speeds

Hello,

A while back I found this beautiful chart from the Magic Lantern team about a bunch of specs you don't find anywhere else on the internet.

Especially interesting are the write speeds, because you don't need cards that can read/write faster than the camera can.

So I was wondering if anyone would know how fast the 7DII writes off on a CF card.
Currently using the 7D, I don't need +600x or +100MB/s cards because my camera only writes 40-50MB/s max.

(I use Transcend 400x CF cards)

And I know it's useful when off loading data onto the computer, but I find 50MB/s already pretty good (still using USB 2.0, fml)

Anyway, please respond if you know something about that.

Rod Galbraith publishes data on the real performance of memory cards in camera. It would appear from his data that you would do better with a 600x card than a 400x card. Not much extra advantage to going with a 1000x card in the 7D.

I would assume that the 7D2, would perform similar to the 5D3 with CF cards. So the 1000x CF card will give the best performance

Rob Gailbraith stopped updating his site in 2012, long before the 7D MK II came out, he has no numbers for it, or any recent card releases.

However, lots of testers have tested it.

Check this site out. Personally, if it actually mattered to me, I'd check multiple test sites, since no one gets the same results due to different test methods.

1000X seems to be much better, for either the 7DI or the 7DII. Good to know.

Keep in mind the advertised speed is the max speed. It doesn't mean it will always write that fast. I know a 94mbs card will do better in a 7D than a
67mbs/700x card. Both are above the speed of the camera but lets say part of the time they both are writing at 1/3 speed. That puts them both
under the cameras speed but the faster card is still faster. I will always buy the fastest card I can afford at the time.
