Canon continues to push forward with a Canon RF 35mm f/1.2L and RF 24mm f/1.2L

I've seen Alsace pinot noir as pale as some rosés... What's in a name? :p
Our pinot noir can be pale, though it shouldn't. But, unlike rose "wine", it is vinified like white wine, so it matures in steel vats. Some winegrowers also chose to keep it in oak barrels for some months to 1-2 years. "Barrique" pinot noir can be kept for a very long time, just like bourgogne (same grape), and be as good as a bourgogne. But the traditional Alsatian pinot noir is not, as the Italians would say, "barricato". I do like both methods, they produce different wines.
Switzerland, Italy also make some excellent pinot noir. But no one would speak of a pinot noir as of a rose...
PS: My dislike of rose (yes, I know, no accent!) is rather a dislike of those cheap supermarket roses de Provence, inexpensive to buy, yet a headache guaranty...
PPS: Rose de Tavel is a very good rose in the Euro 10 + price range...🍷Sante!

When I was a teenager, I had some delinquent friends and we would chose not my quality of flavor but flat shaped bottles because it was easier to conceal. Eventually we got old enough to work, but one friend continued hiding flat bottles in his pocket, coat, probably underwear, and eventually he got caught at his job.

I already suspected that you had a criminal past! :devilish:
"Funny" that in the US, legal drinking age is 21, but gun ownership is legal at age 16.
Killing must be healthier than drinking...

A protruding rear element could indeed suggest there might be either a fixed focal length point and shoot coming to challenge the Leica Q3, or we might be seeing a revised RF mount for these, which eliminates the shutter and allows for short back focus lenses on the RF system (think along the same lines of what they did with EF-S).

I really hope not, as I will take steps to be first on the list for any 35 1.2 that ships (and Canon not opening up their RF mount haven't given me any options so far, and the 35 1.4 VCM is a bit lame for stills).

If Canon do decide to do something like this, the R3 II, or potentially the R7 II, would be the first places we might see something like this.

Being unaccustomed to all things alcohol, I had to google Night Train. I learned it was discontinued in 2016.
Tell me, does it age well?
I’m not a wine connoisseur, but I have a feeling these bottles displayed in a steakhouse window as I walked by (Portland, Oregon, USA), are not ‘jug’ wine.

Yes, I think my past should help me if I decide to run for a political office!

The gun ownership age and age of consent vary according to sate, but it is "funny" like you say. What's even more "funny" is after this tragic anti-ICE death who had a gun, I see some Liberals suddenly supporting gun ownership and some Conservatives suddenly want more restrictions!

EF 100mm L?
Correct. EOS 5D Mark II, EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM, 6 s, f/5, ISO 100. I liked the setup for that shot because it was just the camera sitting on books stacked on a chair to get it to dining table height, and the lighting was daylight through the window with a 'gold' (plastic) charger plate held by hand as a reflector. No sepia toning or anything in post-processing, it was all natural/reflected light. A macro setup 'on the cheap'.

...Be patient, in comparison, the Leica M Apo 35 will look like the bottom of a cheap wine bottle!...
To segue back on-topic, the aspheric elements on these (patent) Canon lenses will have much tighter tolerances than glass wine bottles, even Chateau Lafite Rothschild.

And, I’m not going to touch if these lenses will need or benefit from ‘software correction.’

I really like that image.
I was just about to ask if the color cast was done in post, but I appreciate learning how the warm tone was created.
Not that there is anything wrong with in camera or computer adjustment of the color cast. I can accept that just as well as in camera correction for the distortion in the RF wide angle lenses.
I just wish there was some in camera correction for my EF 100mm f2.8 L focus breathing. That would improve my mediocre focus stacking attempts.

Disregarding my previous comment regarding off-topic, I do not shoot video or focus stack, so I’m confused by this focus breathing explanation on the Leica web site:

lwica_focus_breathing.png

It seems to be ‘backwards’ – focus breathing is focal length change while focusing, causing image size change, correct?
