Officially they have to wait..... But some don't for certain customers.

I think he said he ordered from Allen's which is the local store for him. I know the small mom and pop stores are a little loose with dates. Some guy on Reddit got his early too through his local B&M

Well, that sounds consistent, nothing has changed there in 20 years.

R52 bodies started to be sent to dealers early last week, so everyone (or most) has them just sitting there. I was offered one early, but I don't want the camera, but I will take them up on the R1 in November!

I'm seeing the same usernames that complained about Canon "cooking RAWs" now complaining about the extra noise now that Canon has stopped cooking the RAWs....

The extra detail that people report seeing is a nice bonus for my usecase, I'll take the hit on noise for that. I'd also happily trade noise for a global shutter, but that's not a popular opinion here

I just read the readers' comments. According to them, the R5 II must be worse than any existing Sony or Nikon. Poor colors, miserable DR, even the cripple-hammered R5 was better. DRreview have the readers* they deserve...
