Nice rumors there!

As did I, although I won’t even consider as APS-C R body until there’s an RF-S UWA zoom to go with it.I’m very curious about the formfactor, an EVF-less body is what I’ve been asking for a long time.
But I thought it would never happen and bought an R8 as travel cam…
Yes, maybe i will get rid of my M6 now as my handy in the pocket camera. I'll wait and see.I’m very curious about the formfactor, an EVF-less body is what I’ve been asking for a long time.

Exactly! As did I, although I won’t even consider as APS-C R body until there’s an RF-S UWA zoom to go with it.[...]
My hope is that it’s smaller, a legit pancake lens like the EF 40/2.8. If so, I’ll certainly buy one. If it’s the size of the 16 and 50/1.8 primes, I’ll pass.I hope that RF28mm is the same size, or smaller as the RF16/RF50, it would make a nice companion for the R8.
So it seems like Canon is indeed bringing off shoe cord for new hotshoe. Also that price for 28mm is quite a lot lower than expected.Google translate:
Rumors of Canon's new products became a hot topic on 5ch. The rumored new camera seems to be confirmed as "EOS R100". It's interesting to see what kind of camera is finished at a more affordable price than the R50.
His digital camera board on 5ch
Confirm the model name of the mirrorless camera with EOS R100
RF 28mm F2.8 STM: $299
Lens hood EW-55: $45
EOS R100 Body: $479
EOS R100 RF-S 18-45 IS STM Lens Kit: $599
EOS R100 Double Zoom Kit (18-45mm & 55-210mm): $829
Off-Camera Shoe Cord OC-E4A: $180
That's what I'm talking about.
The mysterious mirrorless is confirmed with EOS R100. As an entry model like the R50, I am wondering if it is equipped with a different dimension AF system (especially subject detection). If the AF performance is the same as the R10 and R50, it will likely have an outstanding presence as an APS-C entry model.
The lens kit comes with 18-45mm like R10 and R50, and it seems that there is also a double zoom kit. Personally, it would have been nice to have a single focus lens kit, but unfortunately it is only a zoom lens kit at the moment.
Old Off shoe cable had model OC-E3 so OC-E4A is in line with that naming scheme. Also didnt lower end M series bodies with this form factor lack hotshoe needed for EVF.As did I, although I won’t even consider as APS-C R body until there’s an RF-S UWA zoom to go with it.
The pictured camera is the M200. But I suspect this will lack an EVF based on the mention of an ‘OC-E4A off camera shoe cord’, which clearly isn’t that at all and at $180 is likely an external EVF.
For $180? Seems exorbitant even for Canon. Plus there is not even an available flash for the new multifunction shoe, so an off-camera cord is premature. What there is already is the ST-E10, which renders an off-camera cord useless. So it seems like Canon is indeed bringing off shoe cord for new hotshoe.

The M1 and M2 have an hotshoe but aren’t compatible with a hotshoe EVF. The M3 uses the EVF DC-1 and M6/M6II use the EVF DC-2. I suspect the correct model ID for the $180 accessory launching with the R100 is OVF DC-3, not OC-E4A.Also didnt lower end M series bodies with this form factor lack hotshoe needed for EVF.
I think RF 28mm will be pencake lens,Like nikon Z 26mmExactly!
I hope that RF28mm is the same size, or smaller as the RF16/RF50, it would make a nice companion for the R8.
I am hoping the screen flips to the side like every other RF mount camera and not up like the M200.I’m very curious about the formfactor, an EVF-less body is what I’ve been asking for a long time.
That is correct. Also didnt lower end M series bodies with this form factor lack hotshoe needed for EVF.
This lens is basically the same price but it is on sale at a discount right now.I think RF 28mm will be pencake lens,Like nikon Z 26mm
The Nikon Z 28/2.8 is similar in length to the RF 16/2.8 and 50/1.8, small but not a true pancake lens. Compare those to the EF 40/2.8, which is 23mm long, 20 mm shorter than the Z 28/2.8 and the two cheap RF primes.I think RF 28mm will be pencake lens,Like nikon Z 26mm
Plus there is not even an available flash for the new multifunction shoe, so an off-camera cord is premature. What there is already is the ST-E10, which renders an off-camera cord useless.
Was the OC-E4A actually announced? It has appeared for preorder, but I didn’t notice Canon saying anything about it.Stuff announced in late May doesn't mean it will ship in late May. By the time the new cord will likely actually be available the new flash, announced a while back, is also supposed to be shipping.

So…no. A blog post by Bryan is not an announcement from Canon. He even states, “With a lack of fanfare…”Also Announced Today: Canon OC-E4A Off-Camera Multi-Function Shoe Cord
