I received my new RF 50mm 1.8 yesterday. I find it better than the EF version. One thing interesting, the control ring does not click. It is just smooth. I assume it is because the control ring is switchable to also serve as the manual focus ring.
I do have the 35. There is a bit more to it. It has the IS but also has 11 elements in 9 groups vs the 6 elements in 5 groups of the 50. The 35 also has the macro capability. These things are what, I assume, make it cost more. I also have the 85 f2.
Just a few shots around the house and it seems pretty good!
And I know that this should be elementary but after having the 24-70 RF on my camera for so long the weight difference Is incredible! It is so light it feels like there is no lens on the camera at all. I have the R5. I have the R5. So now I'm just waiting on the shipment of the 70-200 f4. B&H says last week of January.
