I have always had great service from the center in Nj but recently used the one in Newport news va, I have to say I was sorely disapointed.
Ps I recently joined the CPS platinum program and honestly I got better service out on NJ as a Joe Schmo than i did as a CPS member in VA.
I had to reship to get it properly fixed and this time asked for NJ as my service center. Result, received same day, being repaired, will be back in 2 days!!!!
I just wondered what other experiences have been with other service centers and is one recommended over another?

Many prefer the center in VA, but people have different experiences. A single experience is not indicative of anything but that one time.

I send mine to Irvine, I've had good and bad service, but they always made it right.

A new CPS repair center is open in New York./New Jersey. Which did you use? I assume the non CPS one, but Just saying NJ doesn't necessarily tell us which.

I expect they opened it because the existing centers are overloaded. Be thankful you do not have to use Nikons 3 month service.

I've always had great service at the Jamesburg, NJ facility (I live within driving distance). One time when dropping off my 5D2 to get cleaned, the manager asked if I wanted to wait and he had it done it less than an hour.

I've had pretty decent service from the VA center. I'm a CPS Platinum member. Most of the time lens repairs are shipped the same or next day.

I recently had to send my 1Dx for a problem. They had to replace several parts including a circuit board, pentaprism and top panel. They did not have the parts and had to order them (from Japan, i'm assuming). The repair took about 10 days. I can understand what happened, but I think Canon's communication with the customer about what is going in is exceedingly poor. All the information they would give me is "in process".

They should have offered you as loaner, I'd contact CPS and complain.
