I really cant stand all this drama it is a major buzzkill...

I cant stand it but I cant ignore or or stop joining in with it either...

It started out with wanting to upgrade to full frame... but not wanting to buy the 5d2 because there was a 5d3 coming "soon". Time passes... 1dx announced... cant afford it therefore dont care... d4 announced... dont care I'm got Canon gear as well as not being able to afford it... D800 announced... OOooo I like the look of that as long as theres not too big a price to pay elsewhere for those extra megapixels, I'd be able to print even bigger than the 20x30's I do from my crop... Not to worry Canon supposedly have a high mp prototype... perhaps the 5d3 will be similar... 5d3 announcement imminent... no high mp but a higher price... ah... a choice is required... between d800e and 5d3... keep trying to accept that the 5d3 wont give me as much mp as the d800e but at least it will be a better all rounder with great bit pixels for less blur chance and better iso performance... then begins the bullshit... the samples are crap compared to the d800's... shitty detail wiped noise reduced jpgs to show what a $3500 camera can do... so everybody is immediately in panic... and then... ah screw it... you know the rest...

We have all been waiting sooo long that we have jumped in and preordered for an unreviewed camera knowing that if you dont preorder and wait for it get on shelves then you may have to wait until later in the year to get one... Ive got a trip booked for this year that I will be getting photos I will be trying to sell for years after, I really do feel I need to upgrade to the best I can to get the best and biggest printable shots that the combinations of my skills and equipment can get. A fancier camera may not make me a better photographer but a better camera plus me will get better (and more consistent) photos than a worse camera plus me...

Pre announcement we were all getting worked up and speculating a lot... since the announcement that energy hasnt dissipated so its feeding on scraps of gossip, hearsay and extrapolated bits of nothing...

So as I said earlier much as I hate this speculation and drama I cant leave it alone...

I have a shiny new full frame camera coming very soon I should be excited not stressed out by this fact...

Your new camera is coming very soon!

My only dilemma (not really) - since I feel I am in the first ship round and its releasing on a Thursday, do I upgrade my shipping to Overnight or wait an entire weekend while I hear about everyone else having fun with it.

(oh and that I need to replace my 10-22 now but budget doesnt allow quite yet; and that my current 7D is in damage repair so I am limping on an old Xti at the moment; and that my new 70-200 IS II got a small nick on the outer shell (same accident as the 7D) and really needs to get sent out to CPS but I wont until the 5D Mark III arrives)

Coping and returning to CR way too often.

Dude, the new camera will f'ing rock!

I don't give a rats ass what anyone in this forum says actually in regards to noisy, banding....or anything got to do with measurebating or pixel peeping....it's all a bunch of bullsh!t!!!!

I have and currently use 6 different camera bodies...from the original one that started it all the D30.....To the original 1Ds....lmfao.....to a 5d and 5d II....1dmkII...20D....they all create killer images....and I've sold many prints taken with them...taken with....(gasp...the D30 and 1Ds which is noisy at higher ISO's...lol....does it matter??....NOT AT ALL...lol

I really don't understand any of the rambling on here....unless it's a hobby to ramble about stuff that in reality doesn't matter one iota if you just take photos with your gear.

I think it's all silly....If I can use the cameras mentioned above successfully than the new 5DIII will be killer!

I've got to say I'm in agreement with the general sentiment of this thread. I've said this many times: given that we have very little information to go on, most of what people are saying is, in my opinion, speculative at best. I wouldn't put much stock in the DR talk and such until DxO gets their hands on both these cameras to do proper testing. Until then, I'm not making any conclusions one way or another.

I'd be curious to know what buzz is going around the Nikon forums, whether they're all whining about the D800.

I agree, there's far too much hysteria going around when the information just isn't there to support it.

Just look at ^this image posted a while ago. . . . I currently have a 30D, that I have been using for some graphic arts work and fine art (see my avatar).

I will be shooting my first wedding this April with a 5DmkIII. . . .

Need I say more!
