dual slots not worth it?

If you're a pro it's almost essential. And thinking turning mode dial by accident takes magic? Again, shoot professional PJ-style stuff and it'll happen sooner or later :).

His comment about the original concept being putting a great sensor into the cheapest possible box for the original 5D made me stop and go hmmmmm. People loved the quality of photos, they just weren't thrilled with most everything else. The new body is much more sturdy and it really is no longer a low-end FF camera; rather, they kicked it into a new bracket.

There is now a 7D/60D distinction. I wouldn't be surprised if Canon made a 60D equivalent of a 5D3. Cheapen up the body, put in the 60D's autofocus and metering, screen. Maybe just 1 SD slot. Retire the 5D2. Makes some sense now that the 5D line has many more pro features. There would be a rush to buy from people who have always wanted full frame, and maybe as a backup camera to some wedding togs.

There is kind of an off topic discussion about this over in the 2012 mirrorless thread.

Last time I checked in, many posters are poo pooing the concept.

I think it has a lot of possibility, and the 5DII is only being kept in production until the "new" but cheaper version is out.

Always intertaining to see this guys review. After seeing many reviews lately, most of them being positive, it does become clear why this unit was called the mkIII and not a 5DX as it represent an evolution, not a revolution!

His videos are funny :)

He also didn't mention the silent shooting mode, which will be useful. I've gotten nasty looks during events for the sound of my shutter. Really, some lady kept turning around and staring at me every time I would take a picture of someone giving a speech...

My wife thinks the viewfinder is awesome now, more crisp/bright and all that.

As far as high ISO usability, it seems more usable above 1600 with the tests I've done so far, but detail is definitely lost.

I think it is a great summary. And he is a great presenter it takes away all the BS seriousness we have been seeing.

At the end of the day they are both great cameras you cant take that away from either of them.

The D800 is a crop monster but is quite slow with the file sizes so will be great for studio, landscape or even wedding photography.

The 5D MKIII is the best of both worlds 23mp is no slouch and the files are more than sufficient for stunning A2 prints. Basically designed as the all rounder. Great for gigs, sports, full frame quality, perfect wedding camera IMHO, smaller files needing less processing power and less storage PP lower noise.

I dont understand the hatred it has seen already I think its a wonderful camera and improves an already great camera with features that make it truly brilliant! For me who shoots a bit of everything the perfect camera. Been waiting up upgrade my 40D for years now but nothing has tickled my fancy. This is basically a supercharged full frame 40D which is perfect IMO! Also for me who hasnt shot on FF before im sure the difference will me mind boggling.

The only thing I was a bit miffed about was the 30% price hike but with the economy and the exchange rates it makes sense not really Canons fault. Whereas Nikon needed to make a cheaper beast to win back switch overs when the MKII came out so sucked up the costs and make more money on lenses.

Plus there hasnt been a bad review yet and most people are siding with the 5D they will never be able to produce a 'perfect camera' because how will they make money in the future? and how much will it cost!

Just my 2P.
:D

Its more of a DigitalRev review of a cute girl in a bikini, featuring the 5D MkIII.... but whos complaining lol

I like Kai's reviews... he goes in a very roundabout way to say something, but he does have his points... and going the roundabout way is fun.

better than Mr Hands man anyway

i used to have two straps around my neck for my two bodies and they rub against your legs and waist from time ot time. Never poo poo a feature thats useful to someone.
I use a spider pro belt system now so it def rubs near that location on the cam bodies. Nikon has a better knob for that. Also doesnt Nikons wheel actually light up too? I thought i saw that. Wish the canon had that because i was in the dark of my house testing and i had to use the screen to tell me what mode i was in which worked but id like to look on top of my cam and make the adjustment without having to turn the screen on and off.

This dude is so humorous, i kept trying to remember some of the funny things he said so i could quote it but i gave up because he kept coming up with other funny stuff.
I am curious what he uses the cameras for when he doesn't understand the lockout feature it kinda makes me wonder what he even uses his cameras for.
The model, well cute as a button to use old phraseology but she can't run for anything on the two videos of i have seen with her in it haha. Its prob just his girlfriend and he is getting some exposure for her by having her in his videos.
