Oh, das tut mir leid!
Mein Herz schlägt für die Elf vom Niederrhein.
Immerhin ist Werder nicht im Abstiegsstrudel. ;)

A heron?!? Isn't this the wrong thread?
...
No, as this slightly upscaled crops show:
A really wonderful series.
Reminds me of a visit in the "Vogelpark Walsrode" where a southern hawker was flying by a crane.
The crane reacted so fast, caught the hawker with its beak and swallowed it that I wished for a slomo to understand what happened in just a blink.

My first dragons of this year:
R5 + 180L

R5 + 100-500L

And a double unlucky damselfly, first being attacked by mites, then being eaten by a spider, R5 + 180L:

Click on the images for versions with less ugly downsizing, the combination of flickr links, this forum and certain web browsers isn't a good one.

I really like that backlit broad bodied chaser in pic 1

Unfortunately, you still haven’t shot one in flight - it’s a Beautiful Demoiselle not a Banded.
Why unfortunately? The Beautiful is more rare; indicator of pretty clean environment and the photos are very good (especially for a Damselfly!). The Banded in fly will come too but maybe he should move to more dirty area:).
