Is it M or M2. Is it possible to use my EF-S 55-250 and Sigma 30mm and 17-50mm 2.8 bought for t3i with this.
Can it replace t3i. How does it compare to Sony A6000.
Thinking about moving to mirrorless down the line. Not sure if Sony has comparable lens to Canon EFS STM and other third party lens for reasonable price.
Its the first M. You can use any EF and EF-S lenses with them but you have to buy the adapter for it, I've seen them go as low for a new one at $60 on ebay. As for replacing a t3i, for video and image quality, its comparable. But for focus speed, t3i wins by a landslide. It depends on the subject matter, if you're only shooting static objects and landscape then the EOS M is good for you, but if you're shooting sports and kids that move around, then t3i is the better option.
As for comparing to the Sony A6000, the A6000 is the much better camera in terms of video features, focus speed, more fps, has an electronic viewfinder, more focus points and built in flash. But the EOS M has comparable image quality, magic lantern for more video features and it is less than half the price of an A6000 body with no lens and the EOS M comes with a great prime lens.
As for the lenses, its more expensive for the lenses on the sony that would be similar to the 22mm and 18-55mm canon versions.
