Firmware Upgrades

Hello fellow Cannonites. Just a general firmware question. I have the 1dx3. I recently upgraded my firmware to 1.4. I noticed that as I updated my firmware I went from 1.2 directly to 1.4. I guess I must have missed version 1.3 etc. Is there any harm bypassing 1.3 and going to 1.4? Do i lose any of the upgrades 1.3 had?? Any help would be appreciated.

With bodies you can jump, all firmwares include all previous versions.

with lenses it’s recommended to do them consecutively .

hello, can you explain please the lens specific answer? Is it a Canon suggestion, a CPS suggestion?
I upgrade bodies and lenses when new firmware becomes available so there is no danger of skipping a version but still I would like to know.
