This looks like we have two options here: It might be the fabled new high MP 1-series model or it might be some new video-specialized model similar to the 1D-C. I hope for the former and fear it will be the latter.

The englisch translation is absolutely right. Even if you read the german text very carefully, there is not the slightest hint to a product announcement, all it says is that it is just a simple presentation of the canon products.

Maybe the "surprise" is on that theme - but that Canon might license its Autofocus to Zeiss to allow Zeiss to make EF-mount Autofocus lenses - or am I just dreaming?

nothing in that comment indicates that zeiss has something to do with it.

They have special chicken feed that's approved by Canon and has been tested with a large number of limited beta test chickens and has shown to improve their performance by .001%. Oh, and if you fee it anything else, it's been trained to start wobbling and randomly ceasing to function until you start to feed it Canon chicken feed.
