Mode dial cap lost from 5D - advice?

The mode dial cap has disappeared from my EOS 5DIV. I can buy one on eBay. Two questions:
1. How will I fix it back? A spot of glue?
2. Is the 5DIV cap the same as any other 5D caps - 5DIII ones are more available and would any alternative model be compatible?
