"Not an L lens"?

Can't see why Canon would make a lens like this that wasn't an "L" lens. The majority of the cost will come from the size of the glass, not the weather sealing, etc.

The more rational explanation is that this lens was one of the formulas that was tested prior to the 11-24 being released.

It doesn't say "Not an L lens"
