As some of you may know from my other posts on here, I just had my first BABY!!

And my other baby, my 5d3, was there to help me capture it.

I know, most of you dont want to see a million photos of other peoples kids. Tough. Deal with it. My baby is here and I want to tell the world. Plus, this is such a cool community of photographers that you guys are like a second family.

It beats a discussion on how Ken Rockwell sucks, or the d800 is a better camera.

Follow link for a bunch more photos. http://www.timothycapp.com/blog/im-a-dad/

Yes, that goofy guy in the photo is me. I know, its not fine art, but again, deal with it. ;)

Great pictures. What lens did you bring to the hospital?

I used the 50 1.4 for most of the photos. A couple with the 24 1.4 L II. I didn't want anything too long cause I wanted more environment in my photos to give the photo context. Once the baby is out of the nursery I'll take some more posed shots. I maybe used the sigma 85 1.4 for one or two shots.

Congratulations!
My little girl is coming up for 1 year in a couple of weeks.
Time flies, I'll tell you.

One minute she was like this and the next she is running around with things in each hand.
It truly is amazing how fast they adapt and learn.

You have a great excuse to buy that 85 F/1.2 now ;)

Thanks everyone! Much appreciated. :D the lighting wasn't too bad. The room was decently lit cause it's actually a birth center not just a hospital, so it's a little nicer. And of course the OR is nice and bright. But I feel the 5d3 can handle just about anything you throw at it, especially with a 1.4 lens on there. God, I love my 1.4 primes. I wish a 200mm 1.4 existed, and if It did I wish it wouldn't cost $40,000

Speaking of 1.4 lenses, isn't there some sort of super wide rokinon lens or somethin ? Anyone have any experience with that?

I think I'm going to stick with my siggy 85 1.4 I love it. It focuses faster than the canon 1.2 and is actually a little sharper (or at least as sharp). Especially for half the price. Plus, unfortunately, now that we have a baby, my wife isn't going to let me buy anything for a long while, even if it is for business. I mean, I will trade you my sigma for your canon 1.2 if you like. ;) I was lucky I was able to convince my wife that I needed another 50 1.4 the day before she went into labor. I love that little lens. Everyone should own a 50. Next to the 85 it's my favorite ever.

Anyway, happy birthday to your little girl! :)

Congratulations! It sure does bring back memories of my 2 boys and Im sure everyone viewing has their own memories. Enjoy your baby while it's this young and innocent. One blink and they will be running around the house with your camera dragging on the floor and your fancy watch dangling on the other hand while you try to keep up. ;-)
