Attended the McBain Camera Photography Tradeshow in Edmonton Alberta, where the 1Dx, first in Canada, was shown to the public. There was only 1 unit (with card slots sealed) so only had a minute or 2 to check it out. A beast of a camera, but feels very comfortable to hold and not even that heavy. I took a few test shots with it and I am pretty confident that ISO 6400 looks very clean, perhaps 12800 also. I did see visible noise on the display at the highest native ISO setting of 51200. Of course I asked about the 5D III, but the Canon staff said they had absolutely no idea when it will be announced/released, except that they were sure that no 5DIII will show up this year. Furthermore, they said that "perhaps" an entire new line will appear, rather than a new 5D.
