Hi

I have the 24-70 II and 14mm. Both are excellent lens as is the 24 II (which I don't currently own). However there is a gap here. the 17 TS-E would fill the gap but it is big, heavy, cumbersome and expensive if only used as a straight 17. There is the Nikon 14-24 but it is awkward to use (though not impossible to use).

Other recommendation? Nothing in the Canon lineup seems to fill the gap without giving up on IQ. Any recommendations.

Thanks

Agree with eml58. If the TS-E 17 is too large and you don't mind manual focus, then take a look at Zeiss's 18 and 21mm offerings. The TS features of the 17 become addictive though, whether it's tilting down the focal plane for a field of wildflowers or shifting to get a perspective that you can not physically get to. It might be worth giving it a try before deciding.

Considering your above mentioned problems, I don't think any lens in Canon/Nikon stable will meet your needs ... IMHO only option is to compromise with 16-35 f/2.8 L II
