Martin Bailey has completed what is likely the first review of the brand new Canon imagePROGRAF Pro-4000, a new 44″ printer from Canon. We’ve seen reviews of both the imagePROGRAF Pro-1000 and imagePROGRAF Pro-2000 from Keith at Northlight Images which have shown these to be the best printers Canon has ever made and it looks like the Pro-4000 will fall into the same category.

Martin writes about one of the great features of the Pro-4000

Another great improvement in my opinion is the ability to now choose from three sizes of ink tanks, with 160ml, 330ml, and 700ml tanks available. My old iPF6350 took 130ml ink tanks, so even the smallest of the new tanks holds 30ml more ink. I could fill up the new PRO-4000 with 160ml tanks, but now having the option to install larger tanks, and mix and match the sizes, means we can select the tank size based on how quickly the inks run down. Read the full review

I’ll still be going with a Pro-2000, as I don’t need a crane to get into my house.

A very in-depth review, like the 3 sizes ink tanks improvement. That is indeed very handy.
