A week ago I would’ve said that a global full frame sensor camera was years if not a decade away from us. I dismissed the global shutter R1 rumor immediately because of that. Now? I think it’s entirely possible the R1 will have a global shutter. Nikon and Sony have both had their flagships out for years while Canon still hasn’t released theirs. I’ve always assumed that was because Canon planned to do something especially impressive with it and it very well could be a roughly 50mp global sensor that just wasn’t ready yet.
non-stacked = less sport-centric. If it's giving a7r5 a good fight,I don't see why anyone will criticize it much with price in consideration. R5 hold against a1 well in sport events because the mechanical shutter is still 10+fps.
