The world of Canon shooters has been talking about RF mount Sigma lenses for the last 5 years, and to a lesser degree, Tamron RF mount lenses. There have been numerous rumors in the past about Sigma announcing something…. anything in regards to RF mount lenses, but nothing has come to fruition yet. As we

While I keep hoping for a 200-ish mm 1:1 macro lens, having a bunch of the DC DN APS-C lenses available in RF mount would be great. I have the EF-M 56mm f/1.4 and it's small, light-weight, has silent AF and very good IQ. Any of the lenses from the https://www.sigmaphoto.com/lenses/dc-dn page would be a good fit on RF-S bodies.

Does anyone want the SIGMA 50mm F1.4 DG DN | Art for RF as well?

I’ve used the Sony version sigma 85mm f1.4 dg dn. It’s spectacular! It’s relatively compact/light and has beautiful image quality wide open. It’s so good that i think it would compete too much with canon’s own RF f2 and f1.2 versions.

But hey, you never know.

Hope third party RF stuff is coming as soon as possible, so it will start to hit the used market in 2/3 years from now, and I can finally start swapping my EF lenses.

In the short run the most interesting stuff for my personal needs are the 85 f1.4 and a 35/40/50 f1.4 which are my most used lenses.

On an even shorter run, surely I'd love the Tamron 35-150 so I can ditch both 24-70 and 70-200 (here I would even consider to buy a brand new copy in 6/12 months from release, as going from a 2 lens setup to a single lens setup could be worth the immediate investment).
After doing that, finding something decent but cheap 18/20ish around f1.8/2 to complement the 35-150 and ditch the RF 16 which is too wide for what I do. The RF 24 STM would be just fine, but it's too close to 35mm, I need something wider, but not down to the actual 16mm. If Canon is re-doing a 20mm f2.8 and price is in line with 24/35 STM, I'll probably go with it, if there are no viable third party alternatives.

In the medium run I want to get again a 135 f1.8 as the Sigma is stellar and I really regret to have sold it, but if in 3/5 years a good used copy of the RF 135 is not far from Sigma's prices, I may well go for the Canon for the IS. I'll probably re-buy soon the Sigma in dslr mount (or the old EF 135 if I find a super cheap copy under 400€), and then will switch it to a ML mount lens as the last piece of equipment to do so.

In a recent conversation that we had with an employee of a Sigma distributor in a certain country that we cannot name
Heard it from a friend who
Heard it from a friend who
Heard it from another Sigma’s messin' around
They say you got an RF lens
It’s out by February’s end
They're talkin' about you and it's bringin' me down

But I know the CR neighborhood
And talk is cheaper when the story is good
And the tales grow taller on down the line
But I'm telling you, babe
That I don't think it's true, babe
And even if it is, keep this in mind

You take the CR1, baby
If that's the way you want it, baby
Then I don't want you around
I don't believe it
Not for a minute
You're under the gun
So you take the CR1

I want robust Canon RF 50mm F1.4 IS STM. Nobody needs Sigma in that case.

So.....are you guys saying that the Sigma 35mm f1.4 could be available BEFORE the rumoured Canon RF 35mm f1.4L !?!
I have a hard time believing that.
I am not even sure which lenses Canon could let Sigma bring over.
Maybe some of their zooms since Canon zooms are pretty competitive.
Pretty much any Sigma prime would cause problems for Canon right now.
