I just phoned with an shop for creating an nice Rf bundle. When talking of the RF 50mm 1.2 lens, the consultant there told me NOT to use an slim screwed in filter with this lens. It could be possible, that the inner part of the lens moves to far out and the lens will be damaged. Curious.
Can someone post, if this is really true?

To achieve the weather sealing on the RF 50 1.2 it is recommended to use a front filter. I have a UV filter on mine with no issues.. not sure how it would make contact with the lens element?
The consultant was in fear that the moving inner system would touch an slim filter.
So, he adviced to use an normal one as protection.

I just checked mine, and what the consultant says is reasonable. I have a B&W XS Pro on it, and when I rack focus, the inner moving section does go past the outer non-moving section. I don't see it touching the filter, but it's close. That said, it wouldn't be glass-on-glass anyway. The plastic inner barrel is further in front of the front element.
