Actually, the 35 mm film was originally a cinema film. Still cameras no longer use film. Video cameras no longer use tape. They use the same digital technology.
Still, 35 mm photo film cameras and 35 mm cinema film cameras were completely different beasts. Maybe there's something wrong in your argument.
