Besides adding a 14mm RF TS lens, how would Canon improve the current TS lenses?Yes and yes. The TS lenses don't even need to have AF...
A TS-R 14mm would be very welcome (a preorder for me). What I’d really like are encoded movements, which would enable lens profile corrections based on those movements (e.g., the asymmetrical vignetting).Besides adding a 14mm RF TS lens, how would Canon improve the current TS lenses?
Aren't they already really sharp? Maybe reduction in weight but I would imagine that they are used mostly on tripods anyway.
Without a drop in filter, then the RF versions couldn't handle ND/CPL filters without massive front element glass for the wide angles. I assume that rear gels would be a pain to use.
Sony is waiting for Canon R6iii pricing. And I guess Canon is doing the same for Sony a7.... Chicken or dare time.
Nikon Z6iii set a low bar, I hope Canon will do more than just clog2 & stacked CMOS. Preferably have a hybrid one and a dedicated 60+MP
If Canon goes above 45mp, it will be a jump much higher than 60mp, and it will be a 5 series camera. There's no point when 45 already exists.
Given that the 5DS/SR were 50mp, the linear resolution difference from the current R5/R5c/R5ii's 45mp would be negligible. One can only hope. I got to borrow the 5DS for a trip. Loved the extra megapixels. Would love a R5SR.
I already have an R5C but you have to remember that at the time of the 5DS the resolution of the 5d3 was around 22mp. I would expect more of a resolution increase than 5mp. I can't remember if the 5d4 was available when the 5DS was released but that is 30mp. I would expect the R5S to be somewhere around 70-100mp. Of course it may not be in development at all so it may all just be a fun talking point.Given that the 5DS/SR were 50mp, the linear resolution difference from the current R5/R5c/R5ii's 45mp would be negligible.
Grab a cheap R5 now if you liked the higher resolution. IBIS makes a huge difference as well for handheld shooting at that resolution.
I never missed AF while shooting TS lenses so far.Yes and yes. The TS lenses don't even need to have AF...
Take the EF 16-35 2.8 instead ....That'd be great but I'm personally waiting for something like a 14mm f/1.8 (I once rented a Sony a7RV with the 14mm f/1.8 GM and I loved it!) or a successor of the aging Canon RF 15-35mm f/2.8 L IS USM. A 35mm f/1.2 would be great too but I like the versatility of something like the RF15-35L
Did you ever try the FD100 2.0? Worth it!I thoroughly enjoy those who consider a lens from 2019 to be a dinosaur. Meanwhile, I captured some awesome photos with my r5m2 paired with an ef 135mm f/2L this past weekend; A lens from 1996.
I want new lenses too, but let's not act like the older models are inferior.
Whatever the cause, it's inappropriate for USA retailers to post a camera that hasn't been announced by Canon USA. I wouldn't read too much into it.I just got confirmation. Canon USA told retailers to pull the PowerShot V1 from their websites. I think there's a problem outside of Canon's control.
