Hi I am nearly to buy a 600D (mainly for video), but wonder how far is next new body, like 700D. Can we expect they will roll out with it in Apríl? Or they will made only 650D?
Maybe they will come with some slick mirrorless one... ;)

my guess would be 650D in feb/mar 2012, with minor upgrades and Digic V.
700D probably not before 2013. Most probably with a new sensor.

indeed, I would say also 650d early next year. likely the moment that I'll change my 400d.
same sensor (18mp) and digic 5. AF of the 40d (60d) and bigger viewfinder would be nice though. AF microadjust would be welcome too, it was strange that they removed it from 60d.

actually a lower MP new sensor would be also welcome :)

the current aps-c sensor has been building profit for them in 4 different cameras already (550d, 600d, 60d, 7d)..

There has been a new xxxD in the first quarter of every year for the last four. I expect we'll see a 650D in 1Q12 (they won't skip a number, and x50 vs. x00 has no meaning in terms of features).

My speculation is the same 18 MP as before (3rd time in an xxxD) and Digic5. I like the suggestion of an AF update - but if they use the 40D AF (same as 60D), they'll need to follow soon with a 70D. So, probably the same AF (from the 20D, in fact). The 'new thing' might be a touchscreen.

True but this wouldn't be a smart move from a marketing pov, since this is the entry model segment (and more MP is better in the eyes of most people who buy their first DSLR). Especially since Nikon and Sony now also offer more MP in their similar models.

what will Digic 5 change in rebel? faster shooting? and better noise reduction?

it can add more fps per sec, but they will not use it in this low segment ;)

from DVXforum:
"... with just updated Digic capabilities, so, better encoding (smaller files for same image quality) but still the same old aliasing/moire; if it uses subsampling instead of line skipping, it should have greatly reduced aliasing/moire, and clean ISO 3200 in video (because of noise averaging), which would make it a killer camera at $800 even with 4:2:0 H.264 at 24Mbps; we'll see... My point was that they will use Digic 5, BUT they will not increase FPS in burst mode too much in lower segment of DSLR because they must to keep it for more expensive models.

True. They should keep it around, or preferably under, 4fps to have enough gap with the burst mode of the higher models like 60D and the upcoming 70D.
The use of DIGIC V is not only for faster shooting btw. Quote from S100 preview of DPreview :

the S100 debuts Canon's latest DIGIC 5 image processor, which the company says is six times faster than the previous version, allowing more sophisticated image processing and noise reduction.

So, if what Canon claims is true, while we can expect to see the same 18MP crop sensor in the 650D, image quality/noise levels might be slightly better thanks to the new processor. Probably a minor improvement at best. Video capabilities would probably also be improved as someone already stated.

Ok, if by "they won't use it" you meant they won't increase the FPS, then fair enough. Although, a modest increase in the frame rate is likely just to have an "improvement" for the marketing campaign.

I would definitely prefer getting rid of line skipping, moire and other flaws in video mode and something like hi speed 120fps in video for 720p would be nice :))

As far as I understand from Canon Nov 3rd funny presentation there was a little war between foto and video department so I hope its over now and we will benefit from it soon. :D
