That's pretty expensive for a lens that shoots like it has some vaseline smeared in the middle. I get the idea that you don't need every pore in focus, but why not let the photographer adjust that in post if they want? I'd rather have the detail and not need it than need it and not have it.

It's manual aperture, but it has full RF EXIF/focus assist support, I'm pretty sure.

In any case, I think it's hard to justify buying this lens rather than the RF 50/1.2 — or, for that matter, a number of other 50s you can get for less. I mean, it's a lot to pay for a full manual with character, isn't it? And it's not like it's going for technical perfection like the EF Otus lenses...

From the pictures I could find of the EF-mount version, the lens lacks the aperture ring found on other mounts, which would imply having an electronically controlled aperture.
I don't have any actual hands-on experience, so please correct me if I'm wrong!
