Stills and Video
Received word of someone speaking at a gathering in the USA about a new camera.

Apparently the new camera is from Canon and shoots HD video and stills at the same time. The camera is a lot different than the 5D Mark II.

That camera is currently being tested outside of Canon.

No word on arrival time.

3D Info
More info about a Canon 3D. This rumor is the longest lasting in the Canon photographic world.

NL received info that the camera will have a relatively  low mp count and the sensor will be optimized for video.

It sort of fits with the above mention of a video/still camera.

Any mention of a “3D” requires an entire quarry of salt.

  1. I have the 7D, but I’m thinking about upgrading to a 5D mII… I want the FF, in order to use some lenses that just wont work with the 1.6x crop in studio. However, I shoot some sports and weddings and need good ISO and many FPS, therefore the 5D doesn’t have all the features I want, that the 7D has. Should I wait?? Will need to buy before November though… Do you guys think the mkIII will be out by then?

    Thank’s!

  2. You left out the apostrophe in “rats ass”. (It goes before the “s”, by the way–that’s the “s” in “rats”, not “ass”.)

  3. I don’t know about that. Canon lenses are older than Nikon ones. So that maybe one reason for this.

In addition, the latest canon releases outperformed the Nikon counterparts according to the reviews on the net.

Check the 70-200mm F2.8 IS II for example..

  4. Agreed, Canon’s new lenses are excellent, but they sure are charging a pretty penny for them. I shudder to think how much they’ll be asking for a 24-70mm IS.
