EOS & Lenses at PMA [CR3]

500D?
Just had another source saying there will be no 500D as originally planned at PMA. I still don’t have any [CR4] level information on this topic.
Lenses
A good source says to still expect 2 lens announcements at PMA. Nothing definite on which lenses. Actual launch of new lenses could still be a few months off.
Flashes
The only flash I think is realistic for PMA would be the 300 EX style flash.

I second on the telephoto… either a new, sharper 100-400 with an even better IS or a 200-500/5.6 IS that is sharp and NOT astronomically expensive… under/around 2k would be OK

I hope Canon will announce another EF-S telephoto lens such as EF-S 55-150mm F/2.8 IS USM around 1K.

Or another one with quality as good as 17-55mm but has a little more range such as EF-S 17-70mm F/2.8~4 IS USM

It’s sad there is no 500D in PMA. But, hopefully we can see it announced later this year(with AF HD movie mode).

EF-S 55-150mm F/2.8 IS USM is the lens that is missing in the Canon Lens catalog!

The 100-400 is already plenty-sharp.
People complaining about IQ are 300% pixel peepers.
It’d be nice to have it updated with a faster aperture, newer IS and better AF system, but the IQ is already top notch.

My vote would be for a 24-70 2.8 IS and a 35 II or Redone T/S 24.

I sent an email to Yoroku Adachi President & CEO
Canon U.S.A., Inc. stating that delaying the release of the 500D would be a mistake as plenty of people are willing to buy it now. If anyone else is interested in emailing as well assemble this address: Y Adachi at Canonusa dot com

Is there any sign, clue or anything about a EOS 3D ???
I wonder its specs, and if it offers full manual control in Movie mode.
I could be really interested on it….

I have been waiting for the replacement of the 400/5.6L for a too long time….

Yes, a 400IS F5.6L or 500IS F5.6L would be great! Weather sealed as well. At minimum, Canon needs a 300IS F4 Mk II with 4-5 stop IS and weather sealing.

I have a Zeiss lens 45mm f/2.8 for my old Contax what is very tiny (90g). Why canon has not such a small lens at EF-Series or EF-S ? With such a lens you can carry the camera all the time with you.
