  1. Indeed I call bogus on these craptastic stats.

The way I see it Canon has some choices to make. They can keep the 50D the way it is, improve high iso with a digic V and fairy dust and add video and call it a 60D.

But that’s not going to satisfy xxD users so…

They need something to fill the gap between the xxD and 5D mkII.

    Enter 7D

In all likelihood this should be a 1.6 fov crop speed master. It should have improved AF (19 point), 8 fps, weather seals, and should be 15 mpx. Oh yeah and for the extra cash a bigger viewfinder (100% is long overdue.) Movies, yada yada:
    $1999 US.

But this isn’t going to satisfy the folks who really want a 5DMKII with the speed capabilities of a Nikon 700D.

    Enter 3D

Think 5DMKII, full frame, 21 mpx, but with faster shutter, improved AF (like aforementioned 7D, weather sealed, and 100% viewfinder, high iso performer, movies yada yada. $3199 US.

Finally Canon should round out its DSLR offerings with one, yes one pro level full bodied, full frame camera. 25.6 mpx sensor, 16 mpx 1.6 dynamic crop for faster fps bursts (call it 10 fps), then all the top-of-the-line trimmings. Sell it for $5999 and make a cruise liner boat load of money.

    Are we all happy?

    Total Canon Dominance

Now come on with the lens updates…

  2. I’m all for MOAR new stuff! Personally I’d make your 7D be the 60D; and your 3D FF I’d drop the MP to around 15, fps up to 8 or 9, and make it the 7D; the 1D4 make FF fast fps with HD video; the 1Ds4 28 MP with 4K video…so we’d have the 1Ds4, 1D4, 5D2, & 7D all FF, 60D the killer APS-C body, followed by the usual plethora of entry level Rebels/500D/1000D.
