Either a 7D or 500D will be good. Come on!
what nikon would you buy? the cameras that nikon makes to compete with rebels are no where in the canon class.
The d40 and d60 are underwhelming cameras and if you want to spend 1200 on a d90 then the rebel is not the camera that best competes with it…

full frame at what price? 2000 – why not buy a 5 then…
it won’t be less than that – not for the next few years at least…
and to say either a 7 or a 500 seems silly to me as well –
isn’t there a 50D/60D fitting in the middle there?
